Karen Jacques – Sales and Marketing Solutions

Objective & Branding

Karen Jacques was starting her own business and had approached me to help create a brochure web site outlining the key areas of her business proposition as well as to provide her contact details. Karen expected her clientele to get a quick overview of her skills and to be persuaded to use her expertise.

It required branding and needed to offer visibility during relevant web searches. Karen and I went through an iterative branding process detailing out her business personality.

Once the branding was complete, I was able to focus on the website design.

Design process

Over the course of a few days I had pulled together a few wireframe options for a proposed solution, with a clear focus on function over form.

Based on the brief I wanted to make sure that all of the requirements were being met, but by the same token I wanted to showcase Karen as an influential woman in business. We were able to agree on a direction based on the provided wireframes.

I paid careful consideration to the navigation and its behaviour across mobile and tablet devices.

Design styles

Moving on from the wireframe stage, a series of visual styles were produced to create a consistency throughout the site. This included typographic styles, colours, grid layouts and so on.

All areas of the site were broken into reusable components. Whilst this is a small brochure site, it was important that for it to grow, that all elements of the site were built on a solid foundation.
